“INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH BUSINESS PARTNERS”, ORGANIZED BY IMPERIAL ENERGY GROUP, AT TOMSK, RUSSIA.

On December 23rd, 2013 Imperial Energy Group of ONGC Videsh Ltd. hosted an Interactive Session with Business Partners, for the first time in Tomsk, Russia. 55 representatives from a wide spectrum of firms came to Tomsk from different regions of the Russian Federation to attend the session. Only the vendors for X3 and X4 category tenders (valuing more than USD 0.2 million) were invited.

Mr. P.B. Pandey, Chief Executive Officer in his lucid welcome speech emphasized the purpose of this session. He said that the confidence and faith reposed by the business partners in Imperial Energy is amply evident from the active participation of Business Partners in our tenders and the fact that most of these contracts could be finalized within a short span with efficacy through support from Industry. He emphasized that this was also visible with an overwhelming response to this “Interactive Session with Business Partners”.

Mr. Rajiv Arora, DGM and I/c. MM, OVL, Delhi interacted with vendors on different issues and provided valuable suggestions. He praised the response of the Business Partners and their enthusiasm. He also appreciated the challenges of bilingual working system, law of the land and unique processes due to extreme climatic conditions.

Mr. Piyush Kumar Mathur, Chief Advisor for Contracts, emphasized the significance of transparency, submission of correct and proper bid and timely execution. The concept of amended policy was also introduced. The response of the Business partners was positive and indicated enhanced faith and confidence in the system.

One of the purposes of this Interactive Session was to address the grievances of the Business Partners and to resolve these amicably. For smooth action on this process, a mail id was generated which is directly accessed and reacted upon by CEO. Vendors could send complaints, suggestions, problems and feedbacks on it.

The system of online registration was explained in detail and the firms were asked to keep these updated for smooth and speedy bid evaluation. The firms were informed regarding the common mistakes committed by them and were suggested to submit clean and correct bid for speedy evaluation and award.

In the course of the session Mr. A.L. Lebedev, Acting Chief Engineer delivered a presentation regarding Company’s activities and production plans. The invitees were explained about the present operations and plan to implement cutting-edge technologies for exploitation of oil from tight reservoirs. They were told about how an ambitious plan of exploiting Bazhenov Shale and tight Jurassic Sands was chalked out.

D.S. Konev, Head of Procurement & Contract Division, presented major clauses and terms of tender policy. His presentation covered present activities, policies and system. He also appraised the terms of tender policy and informed on future projects and plans. The presentations covered expectations in terms of quality of bid, vendor registration, system improvement, transparency, grievance resolution and feedback; with the objective to have better understanding of requirements related to upcoming projects.

Vendors asked various questions on the procurement and contractual issues during the Question Answer Session and informally during the tea break. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks rendered by Mr. A.V. Karataev, General Director, who expressed his satisfaction over the level of participation in the meeting. The team to manage the Question Answer session also included Mr. Vijay Prakash, Chief Advisor HR & Legal, Mr. Kiran Gadge, Chief Financial Officer and Mr. KK Arora, Chief Advisor Production.
